“Bloom” 5 color screen print made from hand-cut rubylith on Cougar 100# 18x24 paper. This was made as a reward for Kickstarter contributors for Spudnik Press’s “Gigposter Project” for which myself and a teaching artist both went to 3 different Chicago high schools and showed kids how to screen print and make their own posters. A popular subject of many of the kids’ posters was the Chicago Bulls- specifically Derrick Rose, a home-town hero. I paid tribute to the kids’ efforts by doing my own rose, which like Derrick, flourished in spite of his surroundings.
Poster for Harry Knowle’s #Butt-Numb-A-Thon at the Alamo @Drafthouse in Austin, a 24 hour film fest with a cult following and weird inside jokes that I couldn’t begin to explain. The theme was the Hobbit (obviously) and Teen Wolf. Get it? If you do, please explain it to me, thanks. These were offset printed at 24”x36”.
